present. Mayor Craig Stough (1)
excused.
Mr. Robert
Oberly present.
Ms. Husman moved, Ms. Westphal seconded to approve
the Minutes of the May 14, 2008, meeting as submitted. Vote being: Kriner, Westphal,

Item 3 - Lot Split - app. no. 1-2008 requested by Matt
Lewandowski, agent for City of Sylvania, for property located at 5727, 5737,
and 5747 Main Street, Sylvania. Mr. Matt Lewandowski present. Lewandowski Engineers was contracted by the
City of Sylvania
to split and consolidate the parcels associated with the property in front of
the historical village. The area has a
number of survey problems with it. Prior
to 1843 the occupation and the adjoining deeds don=t fit together as neatly
as the pieces of a puzzle as we would normally like them to. In 1859 the Lucas County Assessor=s Office attempted to
address those issues to make the pieces fit, unfortunately they seemed to have
muddied the water further. Parcels
AB@ and
AC,@ as shown on the
drawing, are the current historical
village, actually the front portion the commercial section will be split off
and joined with Parcel
AA,@ in between those two
parcels is an approximate two-foot Gore Parcel.
That is one of the scenarios where back before 1843, the deeds do not
read coincident to each other, where one property line is the same as the adjoining
parcel, in this case it is not, that predates
1843. The intent is combine Parcel
AA,@ the Gore Parcel, and
Parcel
AB@ into one parcel, that
leaves Parcel
AC@ that will be combined
with Parcel
AD@ to provide frontage on
a public right-of-way so it is not a landlocked parcel. There is approximately seven feet common line
between Parcel
AC@ and
AD,@ just a legal connection
for the two parcels. They will write the
legal descriptions for the new parcels and will draft the easements and
cross-easements for access to the historical village. This is an item that he has discussed in
detail with Mr. Ballmer, and he has copies of the drawings. Ms. Westphal moved, Ms. Husman seconded to grant lot split, app. no. 1-2008,
for the property at 5727, 5737, and 5747
Main Street, as requested. Vote being: Husman, Kriner, Westphal (3) aye; (0) nay.
Motion passed by a 3 to 0 vote.
Ms. Husman moved, Ms. Westphal seconded to adjourn
the meeting. All present voted aye. Meeting adjourned.
