2007 Road Projects Main Street Bridge Construction Sylvania City Council recently entered into a contract with Fort Defiance Construction for the replacement of the bridge deck of the Main Street bridge over Ten Mile Creek, just south of Monroe Street. Work will begin the week of June 11 with the detour route being posted, temporary pavement markings and concrete traffic barriers placed. The bridge deck will be demolished and reconstructed in two stages with the east half being worked on first .This work is expected to be completed in early August. Traffic will then be switched over to the newly completed east side and work will then begin on the west side. Traffic over the Main Street bridge will be maintained as NORTHBOUND, ONE-WAY for the duration of the project which is expected to be completed by November 4. The posted detour route will be via Harroun Road and Brint Road. During the construction there will be times when the bridge must be closed temporarily for short periods to allow for some construction activities such as the placement of the bridge beams. We thank you for your patience this summer during this construction project. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Service Department at 419-885-8965.
