Dr. Read Backus has served on Sylvania City Council since January 1972. He is currently the Chairman of  Council's Safety Committee.   He also serves on the Council's Streets  Finance, Annexation & Zoning and Utilities & Environment Committees.  Dr. Backus's term expires December 31, 2009.
