The City of Sylvania is in the Toledo Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) comprising Lucas, Fulton, Ottawa and Wood counties. Toledo’s is the 69th largest of 280 MSAs in the U.S.
In the 2000 U.S. Census, the City of Sylvania had 18,760 residents, ranking as the third largest city in Lucas County.
