| The Department of Finance administers the collection and disbursement of monies on behalf of the City. This includes the revenues for income taxes, real estate taxes, special assessments, fees, etc. The Department is responsible for the preparation of a variety of financial documents, including the annual budget and a comprehensive annual financial report that provides detailed information for the fiscal year. It also calculates special assessments that are submitted to the County Auditor for collection each year. Debt management for the City's outstanding notes and bonds is provided by the Department. The Director of Finance acts as the Chief Financial Officer of the City. The Director keeps the Mayor and City Council informed as to the financial condition and needs of the City.
