Shop Sylvania This Holiday Season

Now that Thanksgiving, 2007 has come and past, the holiday shopping season is shifting into high gear.  Sylvania has many fine stores hoping for your business this year.  I know from personal experience how much the wide variety of stores here in Sylvania have to offer.   Shopping Sylvania stores is also more convenient and supports our local Sylvania economy.

Gift shops, antique dealers, art dealers, clothiers, florists, furniture, home decorating, coin dealers, jewelers, specialty foods, wines, photography, toys, books, computers, hair salons, spas, golf equipment, greeting cards, exercise equipment, bicycles, hobby supplies, musical instruments, auto supplies, business equipment, crafts, hardware, window treatments, sewing supplies, dollar stores and many more are right here in Sylvania.

Sylvania stores also offer the convenience you are looking for.  They are less congested, nearby,  easy to get to and will save gas and travel time.  They are in safe, well lit areas.  The snow is plowed and parking is close to the door.  Many are locally owned and operated, and offer the kind of personal service you get only from an owner operated business.

Shopping Sylvania stores also supports our Sylvania community. They employ our friends, our neighbors and our children, and come to know many of us by name.  Unlike out-of-town stores, they also help support our local schools and community fundraisers like career days, sports teams, prom nights, yearbook ads and more.  The Sylvania Area Chamber of Commerce recognizes this and has started their Shop Sylvania to promote our local merchants.

So before driving out of Sylvania and getting into the congestion of one of the big malls, think about shopping right here in Sylvania.  Starting in downtown Sylvania, go onto Southbriar Shopping Center on South Main Street, Wickford Plaza at Brint and McCord, and Saxon Square, Timberstone Plaza, the Kroger Plaza and the new Andersons Market on Sylvania Avenue.  Monroe Street offers many more excellent shopping areas including Starlite Plaza, Promenade Shops, Country Squire, and the Sylvania Marketplace.  Their prices are competitive, their holiday decorations are beautiful and they are friendly, less harried places to shop.

Remember, shopping in Sylvania keeps our dollars in our community, providing jobs for our residents, support for our schools and tax dollars for city services.  I'll be shopping here in Sylvania this year, and I hope you will too.
