Sylvania Parks and Forestry Are you looking for winding trails, the moving waters of the Ottawa River, scenic overlooks, beautiful drifts of seasonal wildflowers? The City of Sylvania's park system offers these and many other wonderful facilities to the public. Our Parks and green spaces also offer ball fields, children's play equipment, skating and picnic areas. Visit the Sister City formal gardens at the Sylvania Historical Village. The three season floral displays assure a dazzling display of color whenever you visit.
	Sylvania Recreation Corp. Sylvania Recreation to manage and develop recreational programs and facilities in the Sylvania area. Centennial Quarry is a multipurpose facility that houses a dance floor and outside banquet area as well as a large swimming quarry, water slide, and sand volleyball courts. Pacesetter Park is a multipurpose 138 acre sports park located just west of downtown Sylvania. Sylvania Recreation is striving to be the leader of quality individual and family recreation in the community. Sylvania Recreation, truly the Benefits are Endless in this community.
The Olander Park System Olander Park is the 60-acre recreational oasis of Sylvania and Sylvania Township. Its spring-fed 28 acre lake is a popular destination for fishing, boating, and swimming. Olander's 1.1 mile paved loop around Lake Olander is ideal for walking, jogging, rollerblading, and bicycling. Olander Park houses three rental facilities: two Open Air Shelters and the Nederhouser Community Hall. Additional features include four playgrounds, two sand volleyball courts, tetherball courts, horseshoe pits, restroom facilities, concession machines, and a bait shop.
	The Sylvania Sports and Exhibition Center at Tam-O-Shanter is a "state-of-the-art" multi-purpose facility that houses two (2) NHL- size hockey arenas, one (1) 30,000 square foot sports & exhibition center, full service restaurant, athletic pro shop, and various sized rooms available for meeting rental. WE ARE THE PERFECT VENUE FOR YOUR NEXT EVENT!
Sylvania Conservation Corps The Sylvania Conservation Corps is sponsored by the City of Sylvania and supported by the Community service organizations, private enterprise and the school system. The Concept is to provide a means of accomplishing more sophisticated projects and maintenance in our Sylvania parks and other public lands, to enhance the quality of life in our community. The Focus is to provide "learn and earn" job opportunities for Junior High School students in the 12 to 14 year old bracket.
Sylvania Forest Products	The City of Sylvania offers firewood, "Sylvan-Gro" compost and shredded wood mulch for pick-up or delivery.
