The Sylvania School District includes seven elementary schools, three junior high schools and two senior high schools, all with consistently high performance in student and overall school achievement. In addition to college preparatory and vocational studies for traditional students, Sylvania schools also offer a variety of adult continuing education programs.

Lourdes is a commuter college situated on 94 wooded acres in Sylvania, which offers baccalaureate degree programs in arts and sciences, nursing and professional studies including business, education, leadership studies and social work. The college also offers graduate degrees in education, organizational leadership and nursing.
